2 - 3½ years

At Fairy Slipper Montessori, we are building a community.

A child who begins with us at 30 months could be a part of the classroom for three years!

In a Montessori classrom this is called the 3-year cycle, which traditionally includes kindergarten.

Fairy Slipper Montessori classes are mixed age, ranging primarily from 30 months - 5 years.

We also offer parent/child classes starting as young as 2 years.

Parent/child classes are limited to 1-2 days per week at the 2½-hour schedule.

Please note:

Our classroom space is set up for primarily for children ages 2 ½ to 5 years.

However, there are many small materials, scissors available for cutting paper,

and potentially breakable items - all that need to be handled with care.

Every child has a different temperment and matures at a different rate.

Whether or not this will be a good fit for your 2 to 3-year-old depends on the child.

We can discuss this further at your classroom tour.

Not potty trained yet?

Children between the ages of 2 ½ - 3 ½ years may start on a 2 or 3-day schedule, with a parent or caregiver attending to support toileting, give reminders, and clean up accidents as needed.

The expectation is that your family is actively working on toileting at home, your child is out of diapers, and they come to class in underwear. The youngest children may be at the beginning of this process, while children nearing 3 ½ should already be close to toilet independence.
